BNL Chatter / Archives / MYSD Gets Revenge on Glory

So remember a few weeks ago, Glory posted a blasphemous photo of MSYD being used as a coaster for a can of Diet Pepsi?

Well, I emailed my friend who happens to be pictured on the MYSD cd cover riding the trike.

He laughed and said.."Ha! Well here….show Glory what we think of her heart throb, love crush Mikey Dolenz"

ROFL!

lol Too funny.

You forget David, I'm a Monkees fan.

Monkees fans have endured years and years and years of "they're not a real band" and "they don't play their own instruments."

We've argued and fought for many years.

This? It's definitely cute, but it's barely even a scratch to what real Monkees fans go thru.

Nice try tho!

*puts pop back on the mysd coaster and laughs*

Oh, btw, if you REALLY want a place to shoot the arrow, have Micky take off his hat--there's a nice bald spot on the back that makes a great bullseye…  ;)

The trouble with the average person is, they only know (or think they know) what the Monkees were like at the start… a manufactured thing to cash in on the Beatles fame at the time. People totally disregard the fact that they were all talented performers who eventually made the music their own.

My late friend Frankie was a HUGE Monkees fan, and schooled me proper the day I told him they were a fake band. Hey, I was 14 and wanted to piss him off. ;)

Exactly Jeffe.

Also, the *idea* of the Monkees concept was formed 2 years before the beatles were ever known in America. When the beatles became the hit, it opened the door to launching the idea and suddenly the Monkees were known as the pre-fab four.
