When did "t" become silent? I say "off-tin" --so my "e" is a bit off. lol I hate when people write "LOLZ" what the hell is that? Am I missing what the "z" stands for? B/c last time I knew, LOL stood for laughing out loud. Where the hell does the "z" come in at? I just hate the way people are starting to write. I'm guilty of some, like writing "tho" but overall, it's minuscule compared the the slaughter of the english language now a days. |

I hate when people do that stuff as well. Like L8r or Where r u? This Texting thing pisses me off. When I text, I send out messages like I was sending an e-mail. No shorthand.

I am so with you guys on the texting…I spell it all out. Not a word, but a phrase that I HATE is "needless to say"...seriously….if it is needless to say, then why the f*ck are you saying it? |

There's a thing up here in New England that REALLY PISSES ME OFF! When someone says something like, "Man, think that the pizza is Emma's is the best around." Then someone else will so, "So doesn't my Mom." or "So don't I." I look at them and say, "You don't?" I always get a reply from them, "No, I do," or "Yes, she does." They don't even know that they said it. DRIVES ME NUTS! |

When people say "we was…" or "he were…" As I've just graduated with a degree in English Language and Linguistics, I should be tolerant and accept that it's not wrong, it's just a change in usage… but it's wrong! |
| bnldavid | Oct 9th 7:02 am
Okay…If you want to play that game. "I goes" "I gets" "I says" As in…."I goes to the grocery store and I gets some lettuce. And then then I says to the checkout girl, "Why is this lettuce so expensive?" GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. |
| tj | Oct 9th 3:57 pm

"I hate irk for some reason…it just bothers me." Are you sure it doesn't irk you? It doesn't have a drastic effect on me, but I get a little queasy when I hear the word "grassroots". I really don't know why. |

"back in the back" a southern thing I used to hear… "dowhat?" another one…cannot stand it! |
