BNL Chatter / Misc. / Tales of a loose tooth..

Well, Hadley's got another tooth that's loose. And the thing is hanging out her mouth…but we can't get her to pull it. I tried to play like I was checking other teeth, and then pulled the loose one. But, she jumped and I slipped and it's still in there. Now, Daddy isn't allowed anywhere near her mouth. I'm more worried that she's going to swallow it during the night. I need some tips and tricks from experienced parents. |

Let it fall out on her own. She won't swallow it… and frankly, if she does, it's not the end of the world. When I was a kid, I wouldn't EVER pull my own teeth or let anyone touch them. They'd get so loose that literally I could flip them upside down in my mouth. They always fell out on their own and never once did I swallow one. That's pretty good odds for that many baby teeth. I'd say don't stress and just let her do what she wants with it. *shrug* |

I was thinking the same thing…but she's torn between wanting it out, and not wanting us to touch it… But, it came out this morning. She asked Mom to look at it, and when she did…it came out in her hand. Hadley didn't even know that it came out. I always pulled mine out when I was a kid. But we've had three friends with kids that have all swallowed teeth. But they were all boys. Thanks Jen for the advice. I'll keep you posted on what she thinks for the next one. |

I pulled all my loose teeth out with needlenose pliers because I had to have the cash. |

My dad was always trying to get them out of my mouth by tying one end of the dental floss around my tooth and the other end to a door knob and then slamming the door. That never worked. I think because I always jumped forward when the door slammed. |

I never needed anyone to pull it for me. As soon as it would get loose, I'd be messing with it continuously until it fell out. One time I bit into a blow pop, and b/c I was one of those kids that couldn't just suck on a lollipop, I crunched down and my tooth was stuck in the lollipop lol Best tooth removal memory ever! |

Well, the other night, she forgot to put it under her pillow. So, when she woke up there was no Money. She asked me and we told her, "The Tooth Fairy has a lot of kid to check on each night. So, if it's on teh kitchen counter, she's going to miss it. She only looks under pillows of little kids." Last night she wouldn't let go of it until we went into bed. It was under there last night and she woke up to two dollars. |
