Hi gang, this weekend we bought a Wii and Wii Fit; Nathan deployed on Sunday, and as a family we decided that having something new and fun to do would provide a welcome distraction. Does anyone here have a Wii, and if so, are there any games you recommend?? We're going to try renting a few and see what we like, but i'm curious as to what others think. we have the Wii Sports that came w/the system, as well as the Wii Fit basic setup and Wii Play. All very basic. |

MarioKart Wii is a lot of fun if you're into racing I just picked up the new Wii Sports Resort yesterday and it's got a lot of fun games with it as well. If you're into a platforming type game, Super Mario Galaxy is awesome. There's a game called Cooking Mama that you would probably find fun to play with Amelia. |

I got Wii Sports Resort too, Dean. Haven't played it yet, though. I also picked up an induction charger that Engergizer just put out and I'm waiting for the wiimotes to charge. Can't wait to try out the MotionPlus. If you're looking for some fun games to play with the little one, I recommend: Rayman: Raving Rabbids Other games I thoroughly enjoy on my own: Okami I also have Wii Fit and I bought My Fitness Coach, Wii Ski, and the Jillian Michaels title to go with the balance board…but I have yet to try any of them…out of laziness. I guess if you would like me to review any of them, I will. Oh, and I believe during E3 they announced that a sequel to Wii Fit is coming out that adds more exercises and functions like planned workout routines (something sorely missing in the first title). |

Richard, Sports Resort is pretty hit & miss. Some games are super fun while some seem more of just a tech demo for the Motion Plus. It's nice they have a such a variety this time around and some games even have alternate game modes. Let me know what you think after you fore it up. One thing is for sure, after playing sword fighting with the Motion Plus, Lucasarts better get off their butts and finally make a lightsabre-ing game. |

Try the wii bowling. It is a hoot. And for a good workout, the wii boxing really gets me going.

I agree that Super Mario Galaxy is really fun. It's the only game I've played and I'm nearly done with it. I never really played games on any consoles when I was younger so I am really bad at it though, things that seem to come naturally to those who've played on similar things all their lives just don't come to me! |

We've got the Wii and Hadley and Mackenna love it. They love Wii Fit and Wii Sports. We also got the Backyard Games and they love that as well. They also love the Bee Movie game and there was some Under Water Fish game that's a puzzle style game that she loved as well. |

So have you found any games you like? Richard, how do you like Sports Resort? |

I am thoroughly enjoying Sports Resort. Amy loves it too. I bought an extra MotionPlus so we can sword fight. Lovin' the frisbee golf ans the sword battles. I really like that flying game, too. I think it definitely stand out more as a full title than the original Wii Sports did. The only thing I haven't tried yet is the cycling game because all the reviews say it's more of a chore than a game. |

I also just started playing the pick up challenge basketball game. that's kind of fun. I downloaded a bunch of famous Mii's fromt he Mii Channel so it the other day I was playing a pick up game with Iron Man and the Joker. Funny seeing the Joker so up for a dunk. And yeah…cycling is a pain. |

... so what does the Joker say in basketball? Why so technical? |
