Noah scored a goal in his first soccer game ever this morning! He was the smallest player on either team but he did awesome. His team is the Mighty Ducks and they played the Little Einsteins in the five year old division. It was so cold that his coach said they normally would have cancelled the game but their game last week was cancelled due to muddy field conditions and the kids really wanted to play after practicing so hard for the last few weeks.

For those that don't know Noah, he's the one with the blue hood below.

How cute!

GOL! (that's right, no 'a'; a little while ago i just finished watching mexican football)

Here's hoping none of those little guys kicked the ball into the face of a teammate like someone in tonight's game (and from just a few feet away -- OUCH!).

d Apr 13th 1:40 am

Oh, and whatever happened to black and white soccer balls? There was a yellow ball in tonight's game as well…

that's awesome!

Let the fun begin. Those were my most favorite times coaching and watching Jenna and Andrew in sports.

Whooohooo!

Such a cutie!  YAY Noah!

story Apr 14th 1:07 am

yay!

that's so cool!

what position does he play? do they even *have* positions when they're that young? lol!

it's my favourite game.

last night there was a game in our league that determined that if the stronger team won it would mean the championship for them this year. the fans crashed into the field minute 87… I still don't know if the game was disqualified or not (I don't really care, though, cause they're not my team, lol). they were leading 1-0… ah well. stupid fans.

Woot!

Mine all start softball and t-ball this summer. I'm so excited!

High fives to Noah!!!

Sean Apr 14th 12:20 pm

They don't have actual positions in the five year old games, and there is no goalie. The emphasisis just on learning basic skills, having fun, and remembering which way to kick the ball (which apparently is quite diffecult). If the ball goes out of bounds by a little bit they can just kick it back in or a parent can toss it back into play.

It's sort of odd the way they have it set up. Two games are played at the same time on adjacent fields and each field is 3 on 3. Exra players rotate in and out of both fields. It keeps the game moving andthe kids get a lot of playing time so its pretty cool.

omg! he looks so adorable Sean!!!

Wow…I just can't believe how quickly your kids are growing!

Congrats to him and congrats to the proud pappa and momma of course! lol

Mac Apr 15th 12:40 pm

That is awesome!!!  Neither of mine scored a goal at all in the fall, but they're still learning how to control the ball.  (They were in U7)

That ROCKS!  Good for him.

I think that Hadley is wanting to play Soccer as well…some of the kids she runs with in the Neighborhood play, so I think that's why she wants to…

kids she runs with

Makes it sound like Hadley has joined a gang…

that's so cool.

I think it's interesting the way they have it set up, but for introducing them to the game it sounds perfect.

I can't believe the season is over already. This morning was his last game. They have a Fall season and he wants to play then as well. He did so great. In his best game of the year he scored three goals.
