Two students, one of whom I went to high school with and one of whom was in my wife's class a few years back:

Monkneisha. Pronounced MOE-neesha.

Alefitha. Pronounced uh-LEEF-ia.

Then there's Waguespack -- a common German surname in southern Louisiana. Pronounced WAG-us-pak

Here's some names of people I've come across during the years…

Tenacious Jackson (a two year old kid at the time)

Syphillis (pronounced sy-PHIL-us…momma saw the name at The Lyla Mitchell Women's health Center… on a poster…)

And one of my friend's mom from back in high school was named-- Ima Horr.  They lived in a very palatial old home that everyone referred to as "The Horr House"

You know, Nicolas Cage named his son Kal-el.  Like Superman.  I think a lot of celebrities need to be taken out and shot with what they name their kids.  Apple?  Really?  Why didn't they name the next one Orange?

My son actually has an unusual name, atleast here in the states.  You see tons of Eamons in Ireland, but here, most people don't know what to do with it.

You know, Nicolas Cage named his son Kal-el.  Like Superman.

And of course there's Kevin Smith who named his daughter Harley Quinn after the Batman villain.

Apple?  Really?  Why didn't they name the next one Orange?

Because, when one child is doing much better than the other, one parent will say "Why can't you be more like your sister?" And the other will say "Oh come on! You're comparing Apple and Orange!"

lmao @ d

My friend thinks that they named her Apple so Cold Play could take the lyric "shoot an Apple off my head" literally.

One night, while working at the hotel, I noticed two guests whose names were next to each other in the register:

Wang, Pearly
White, Dick

Pearly Wang and Dick White. Which is basically two ways to say the same thing.

One of my business contacts in Ohio is Dick Love.  One of my dad's neighbors is Dick Hamm.  I have no clue why either one of them don't go by Richard.

One of my daughter's school acquaintances is Gabrielle Cox - yep, she goes by Gabby.

Not too terrible I know, but she sure does fit the name.  Tulsa spelled backwards.  My daughter's no longer allowed to have anything to do with her, and neither does she want to.

I had and English teacher named Richard Payne, but he also went by Dick. Not sure if this is true or made up, but people also said he was a major in the army.
