Hello, my name is Katie, and I'm addicted to Rock Band. No, really. My band is called "Buffy Must Die". My guitarist is named Spike. I did not want to leave Colorado because I didn't want to stop playing Rock Band. Someday, when I have a lot of money I don't know what else to do with, I will buy my own system and Rock Band. Yes I will. Let's see, what else might be new and interesting… I'm the thread killer. If you have a thread you don't want anyone to post in, just let me know. I'll post something I think is clever and no one else will post after me, guaranteed. ;) I love my job. If the Air and Space Museum wants electricity, they'd better be nice to me. I like that power. The next person who tells me my boys need a male influence in their life will be put to task to find me a suitable mate. He must be good looking, intelligent, smart, financially stable, caring, emotionally available, well endowed, good with kids, funny, and have good hygiene. I was actually able to get 95% or better at medium after only one week on Rock Band for most songs. Still can't do Run to the Hills or the Green Grass song on easy. Those fuckers are hard. I tried moving my drummer up to medium and I thought I was going to have a heart attack. So, I can't get any more fans. Who cares? I'm in it for the money anyway. Oh, and guitar hero. I love that game too. And I'm no guitarist, trust me. Just don't play Guitar Hero for 4 hours and then try to play Rock Band. My hand was stuck in a permanent claw for 2 days. I really like beer. I like trying new kinds of beer. If I could get down to DC more often, and, ya know, find someone to watch the kids, I would spend every evening at Brickskellar. Even then, I still probably wouldn't have tasted everything. Okay, now the old stuff… Location: Currently - Northern VA. Previously - Colorado. Aurora, outside Denver. Family: I am a single Ma to two monsterously darling twin 7 year old boys. They are my life. They have a sister of the furry, purring variety named Sassy. They are her boys. Music: I listen to a wide variety outside of BNL. I guess the faves would be 80's Brit Pop and New Wave, Musical Theatre, and modern singer/songwriters (think John Mayer, Jason Mraz, etc.). I think most other modern "music" sucks. Because of this, I rarely listen to the radio, and rely solely on my mp3 player. Movies/TV: I am a Sci-Fi and Fantasy nerd. Pretty much if there's a science fiction or fantasy angle to it, I will check it out. I don't always like it, but atleast I tried. I am also an American Idol addict. Simon Cowell is my Dog. Work: Currently - Smithsonian Air & Space Museum's Udvar-Hazy Center. Previously - IRS. I love my job now. Food: Yes, please. If it tastes good, I'll eat it. Not really much of a sweet tooth, though. Every once in a while I can go for a huge brownie, but really I'd rather have steak. As far as the Chatter…I've been around off and on since about 1997, when I discovered this inter-web thingie. I'll go through periods where I just lurk and times when I post too much. Usually, I try to stay out of heated discussions, but sometimes I step on my soap box and speak up. I've met only a handful of these people in my computer in person. I've talked to more on the phone. Um, sex is natural, sex is fun… Okay. Now try to keep the screaming down as you run away. :^p |

I'm also a Rock Band addict, and I'm an owner. My band name is Po' Boy, and my name (guitarist) is Skot. |

As my sister put it…Rock Band steals your soul. Actually, I'm glad I don't have it at home. Otherwise I wouldn't get any sleep! Its bad enough I can't hear "Don't Fear the Reaper" on the radio without trying to remember which colour button to press! LOL My brother kept getting frustrated because we had to change our outfits for every gig. I like shopping. "Buffy Must Die" has a bassist named Angelus (my older sis), a drummer named Dru (my brother or me…we would switch off) and a singer named Cordy (my younger sis). |

I just beat the game last night!!! That's the first video game I've EVER beaten!!! I had to play Run to the Hills and Flirtin' With Disaster on Medium (holy shit). But our finale was Won't Get Fooled Again, and I totally rocked the Pete Townshend arm-thing that he does (and came close to smashing the guitar for good measure). Po' Boy!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!! |

Oh I don't mind…in case you didn't notice, I kept going back to Rock Band too. LOL Po'Boy RAWKS!!! Congrats on beating the game!!! My brother is trying to beat it on Expert and the only song he keeps getting hung up on is the one about the Green Grass or something. I watched him playing some of those, like Won't Get Fooled Again, and I thought my head was going to explode. |

Okay…the job Its not as exciting as working directly with the artifacts would be, but it beats working for the IRS anyway. Officially, I am the assistant to the museum's building manager. I make sure all the bills get paid as well as coordinate with all the other museum departments on issues relating to the actual running of the museum. My boys just like it cause my "office" has lots of big planes. Me too. Where else can you get up close and personal with the Space Shuttle, the Enola Gay and the SR-71 on your lunch break? Unless of course you work for NASA… |
